ICT SOS and Wichita Recovery Hub Break Ground
WICHITA, Kan., January 30, 2025 – ICT SOS announces ceremonial groundbreaking and open house on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The event will celebrate the opening of their shared space with Wichita Recovery Hub, the culmination of an ongoing capital campaign, “Our Place Campaign.”
This new expanded space is dedicated to serving survivors of trafficking, and exploitation. Recovery Hub will lease a portion of the new ICT SOS building to serve clients recovering from addiction and create a safe space for collaborative treatment when needed.
The event will be held at their new facility at 126 S. Ida St., Wichita, KS 67202, where guests will have the opportunity to tour the facility, learn about upcoming renovations, and hear how this partnership will expand vital services in the Wichita community.
ICT SOS & Wichita Recovery Hub
- Date: Thursday, January 30, 2025
- Time: 3:30-6 p.m.
- Location: 126 S. Ida Wichita, KS 67211
This shared space will provide expanded resources for survivors and individuals on their journey, featuring dedicated areas for advocacy, therapy, education, and community support. The Wichita Recovery Hub and ICT SOS will work collaboratively under one roof to offer services that address critical needs, foster healing, and promote empowerment.
TJ’s Running will also have an office in the new building. A running club started by Tony Brown and Jake Dunne, the group has been a major supporter of ICT SOS through philanthropic running events throughout the year, including the 2025 Great World Race.
A key partner in this effort is the Rotarians Against Human Trafficking (RAHT), a committee of dedicated Rotarians from across Wichita who have been instrumental in helping to develop the “Our Place Campaign.” Since its inception in 2023, RAHT has worked alongside ICT SOS to ensure that the facility will meet the needs of survivors and those at risk in our community.
“We are thrilled to open the doors to ICT SOS’s expanded space and to work alongside Wichita Recovery Hub,” said White. “This facility represents a vision of hope and opportunity for those in our community who need it most, and we couldn’t have made this progress without the steadfast support of our Rotary partners,” said ICT SOS Executive Director Jennifer White.
The space will allow both organizations to provide services to their existing clients, while also allowing for support and services in a collaborative environment.
“At its core ICT SOS has been a community connector for services that benefit survivors of exploitation and human trafficking,” said Chair of the ICT SOS Board of Trustees Bridgette West-Williams. “This unique arrangement allows both organizations to function independently, and deliver tailored support to meet their clients' specific needs. Together, ICT SOS and Wichita Recovery Hub aim to enhance their impact, bridging gaps and building a stronger network of support for the Wichita community.”
Services provided by Wichita Recovery Hub can play a crucial role in supporting survivors of exploitation and human trafficking by addressing the complex and diverse needs that often arise from their lived experiences.
“We understand that the recovery journey can be challenging, and we are honored to neighbor with ICT SOS on South Ida to create a healthy and restorative recovery community,” said Brendan Steinacher, Wichita Recovery Board Chair. “This initiative is rooted in our deep commitment to fostering a compassionate community where everyone feels welcomed, understood, and encouraged on their path to recovery. We hope to provide a nurturing environment that promotes resilience, connection, and hope.”
This event also marks the beginning of renovations for the facility, made possible through the generosity of Hutton Development and Meritrust Credit Union, who have supported this project with the building’s purchase and as a financial partner.
Guests will hear remarks from community leaders and organizational representatives, and witness the ceremonial groundbreaking as we take the next steps toward completing the facility.
